EDMONTON Sunday Feb. 28, 2010: Keyano College women’s volleyball team concluded the Alberta Colleges Athletic Association’s 2009-2010 provincial championships with a 28-26, 25-18, 25-20 victory over the Lakeland College Rustlers to claim seventh place at the three-day event which was held at Edmonton’s Grant MacEwan University. Veteran Huskies player Stephanie Jackson wrapped up her four-year career at Keyano by being selected Player of the Game. Prior to the tournament Jackson had been selected an ACAC second team all conference. The Red Deer College Queens captured the ACAC title defending the host Griffins 25-17, 25-11, 25-21 and advance to the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association championship, which will be held in Gatineau, Quebec from March 12-14. The Queens feature former Huskies player Robyn Denney a 5-foot-9 left side. Denney , a native of Fort McMurray, attended Westwood Community High School. Her younger sister Desiree is a first-year libero for the Huskies |
