This weekend say the Huskies faced the top ranked Concordia Thunder. The Huskies needed 2 wins this weekend to remain in the hunt for a playoff spot, and knew they were going to have to work hard to make it happen. Concordia came out hard against the Huskies, and the Huskies held their own for the first 30min of both games on Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday the Huskies wearing their pink jerseys were able to open the scoring and take a 1-0 lead, however Concordia quickly responded with a few goals of their own. The final score of Saturday’s game was 9-2 in favor of Concordia, while Sunday saw a better result with an 8-1 victory for Concordia. Crisitan Garces got red carded during Sundays, game and will have to miss the next game against Grant MacEwan.
