09/23/2011 - It took more than 12 “Good” make that “Great” shots from the Keyano College Huskies men’s soccer team to finally prove that visiting Kings University College Eagles goalie Todd Van Dreil was actually human. A 20 yard run up the right sideline by Huskies Meric Alkan with a low line cross drive for an Adam Drouin header finally broke Van Dreil’s amazing streak about 15 minutes into the second half. That was followed a few minutes later by a 32 yard lob by Mirac Alkan falling over the outreached hands of a back pedaling Van Dreil to secure the win 2-0... Van Dreil was named Eagles MVP while Drouin had the home team honours. The Huskies men’s soccer had opened the 2011 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference 2011 regular season in Edmonton last past weekend playing the No. 3 and No. 6 ranked collegiate teams in Canada. They lost by 2-0 and 4-0 scores respectively. Huskies are now 1-2 with 2 goals for and six against. The two teams return to the pitch tomorrow Saturday Sept 24 at 4 p.m |
