Best season since introduction to the league! That’s right you read that correctly, the Women’s Huskies Soccer program had it’s best season since the team started in the 8 team league in the 2002 season. There are now 11 teams in the league with a 12th team being added for next season. The team finished the season scoring more goals this year than the past 3 season, and was only 2 goals shy of setting a new record, along with this the team gave up less goals, and had the best plus/minus rating since the 2002 season. This season also saw Huskies player Dena Yaghi make ACAC female athlete of the week, and finish in the top 10 goal scores in the league, while goaltender Simone Quinlan boasted the best goals against average since 2002. To add to these exciting athlete achievements the team record its first ever CCAA National ranking and was first place in the ACAC North for a period this season. This weekend saw 5th year player Candice Wade complete her eligibility as a college athlete. Candice finished her season earning player of the game in her last match against the NAIT OOKS, who is the team she started her ACAC career with. The Women’s team is excited about their achievements and look to continue to build for the future as they play ACAC futsal, and train for next season. The team would like to thank everyone for their support this year. |
