EDMONTON Saturday Feb. 27, 2010:  Keyano College women’s volleyball team fell three straight to the Briercrest Clippers 25-20, 25-23, 25-21 at the Alberta Colleges Athletic Association’s 2009-2010 provincial championships being held at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton. No. 14 Alannah Stewart led the Huskies with seven kills. Briercrest dominated at the net with 40 team kills compared to 23 for the Huskies. Huskies Kim Blatchford was named Player of the Game.

Huskies had lost their opening match of the double knockout elimination format to the No. 2 ranked Mount Royal College Cougars 25-17, 25-15, 25-16. Huskies now play the Lakeland College Rustlers at 9 a.m. Sunday for the seventh-eight place finish. .The winner of the tournament will earn a berth in the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association championship, which will be held in Gatineau, Que., from March 12-14.
