Mark Oxer - Head Coach Women's Soccer
Coach Oxer brings excellent credentials to the position of Head Coach, having most recently led his Manitoba men's team to two Divisional Championships with a record of 31-9-4. Oxer has his Pre B license, and has completed the National Coaching Certificate Program level 3.
A Certified Personal Trainer, who graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a degree in Kinesiology, Oxer is a welcome addition to the staff component of the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre. He will also be fulfilling the role of Huskies Athletic Coordinator, which includes overseeing all Keyano game day operations and the administration of Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference (ACAC) commitments.
The move to Fort McMurray has been a natural progression for Mark as he has been coaching with the Focus 9 Elite Athletic Training Soccer Academy since its inception five years ago. This, combined with his excellent technical and tactical abilities, will ensure that Huskies Women's Soccer will continue to develop successfully.
Oxer has worked closely with Patrick Di Stefani, the conditioning coach for junior UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Pro Club Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht, and Head Conditioning and Assistant coach second division team Royal Union St Gilloise. Di Stefani is also the CEO of the Focus9 Elite Athletic Training Academy. Thanks to this collaboration, Oxer has learned much about bringing a professional European mentality to the game. He was a women's soccer head coach in the Central Plains Athletic Conference for years, and is very familiar with university and collegiate competition.
