Melissa Laluk - Head Coach Women's Volleyball

Melissa has a Bachelor of Physical Education in Sport Performance from the University of Alberta, a Kinesiology Diploma from Red Deer College, and is a certified Exercise Physiologist, and she has completed her NCCP level 3.

Melissa's coaching started while in High School, it began as a head coach for a Junior High Team. It was at that point Melissa discovered a passion for coaching. Her coaching career was put on hold while she attended and played for Red Deer College and the University of Alberta. While training with the two teams Melissa had the opportunity to coach younger teams at camps and training sessions. It was in August of 2007 that Melissa got the opportunity to share her successful experiences as an athlete with the Keyano College Huskies. At the end of the ACAC season Melissa also was the head coach for the elite U16 girl's team with the Northern Lights Volleyball Club. Her experiences as an athlete guide Melissa's coaching philosophy and strategy.

Melissa has a full time position at Keyano College as the Alberta Sport Development Centre - Northeast's Coordinator. Her position allows her to work with coaches from a variety of sports and competition levels. Her position also allows her to work with athletes that vary in age, sport and physical development. Melissa and the ASDC training team work hard to provide a holistic training environment that works with the individual athletes and teams.

Melissa's has organized community clean ups for our faculty, volunteered her time for the Be Fit For Life Centre's Girl Power Day and voluntarily coached a club volleyball team within the community. She was also fortunate enough to be a mission staff member at the 2008 Arctic Winter Games (Alberta North's women's volleyball team and snowshoeing).
