Omeechi Williams named All In Sports Den Keyano Huskies Athlete of the Week
Keyano College Huskies Athletics announced today that Omeechi Williams (Hamilton, Ont.) has been recognized as the All In Sports Den Keyano Huskies Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 16, 2025.
Williams led the Huskies in scoring at the 2025 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Basketball Championship at Vanier College in Montreal, Que., averaging 18.0 points per game through their three games at the tournament, with the Huskies ultimately finishing the season seventh among the 61 teams in the nation.
At the tournament, Williams shot 37.8 percent (17-for-45) from the field, which included eight three-point shots on 29 attempts. He also led the Huskies in free throw percentage, shooting 92.3 percent (12-for-13) from the line.
He averaged 10.0 rebounds per game throughout the tournament as well, recording a double-double in a 76-75 overtime result versus the University of New Brunswick Saint John Seawolves. He also average 4.3 steals, 3.7 assists, and 0.7 blocks per game in the tournament, his second appearance on the national stage for the Huskies.
The 2023-24 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men's Basketball North Division Player of the Year is the all-time leading scorer in the history of the Men's Basketball Huskies in the ACAC with 1,165 points.
