Jeremy Wielenga named General Manager of Keyano College Huskies Athletics
Keyano College Huskies Athletics announced today that Jeremy Wielenga will be the program’s new General Manager.
“I’m excited to begin a new chapter with the Huskies,” Wielenga said. “This role will allow me to oversee all aspects of our athletic program and ensure our continued success both in the classroom and on the court.”
Wielenga joined the Huskies’ program as the Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball team ahead of the 2017-18 academic year, leading the program to unprecedented success. In the 2023-24 academic year, he coached the Men’s Basketball Huskies to their first-ever Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Championship and Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championship.
In his time as Head Coach, Wielenga has coached the Men’s Basketball Huskies to a 123-25 record in 148 ACAC Regular Season Games, adding three ACAC medals and another CCAA National Championship appearance to the team’s history. Beginning in the 2019-20 academic year, Wielenga has guided the Huskies to five consecutive first-place finishes in the ACAC’s North Division during the regular season.
During his time with the program, Wielenga has handled the portfolio of Student Academic Success and was most recently the Manager, Athletics as well.
With today’s appointment, the Huskies will now begin a search for a new Head Coach in Men’s Basketball.
