Arthur Silveira named ACAC North Division Rookie of the Year
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) announced today that Arthur Silveira of the Keyano College Huskies has been selected as the 2026 ACAC North Division Men’s Volleyball Rookie of the Year.
Silveira took the ACAC by storm in his inaugural season, recording 202 kills across 60 sets (3.37 kills per set) while appearing in 17 of the Huskies’ 19 games this season. He achieved double-digit kills in 10 games this season, closing out his season with a 20-kill performance on the final day of the regular season, marking a season-high for the outside hitter from São Paulo, Brazil.
“It’s pretty cool to see Arthur earn Rookie of the Year,” said Head Coach Keegan Kuhr. “He follows in a strong line of Brazilian rookies who have received this award, and we’re very proud of him. He has been solid for us all year and continues to grow every match.”
In addition to his 202 kills, Silveira amassed 109 digs, 27 aces, 15 assists, and 13 blocks. Among conference competitors, he ranked seventh in kills, fifth in kills per set, fourth in aces, 10th in digs, and seventh in overall points scored.
Silveira is the fourth member of the Keyano Huskies Men’s Volleyball team to earn the honours, following Rafael Parada Lima (2023-24), João Cunha (2019-20), and Jakub Zdybek (2016-17).
This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2026 ACAC Men’s Volleyball Championship hosted by Red Deer Polytechnic in Red Deer, Alta.
