Cadieux, Carefoote-Jones, Parada Lima named Keyano Huskies Athletes of the Week
Keyano College Huskies Athletics announced today that Women’s Basketball student-athlete Danika Cadieux (Bezanson, Alta.) has been named the Keyano Huskies Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 2, 2025.
Additionally, Men’s Basketball student-athlete Tafari Carefoote-Jones (Calgary, Alta.) and Men’s Volleyball student-athlete Rafael Parada Lima (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) have been named co-Keyano Huskies Male Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 2, 2025.
Danika Cadieux, Women’s Basketball
Cadieux broke out for 35 points, five steals, and three rebounds in two key weekend wins for the Huskies.
"This is a breakout game for Danika," Head Coach Dwayne Vigilance said. "She has been playing really well, but I think this is the game the ball started to drop for her. I’m very excited for her because she’s a very good player and she rewarded herself this weekend."
In Friday’s 68-63 win against the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens, Cadieux had 10 points on four-of-12 shooting from the field. Eight of those points came in the final quarter, won 20-11 by the Huskies as they came back to win by five.
One day later in a 66-64 win against the Olds College Broncos, Cadieux dropped 25 on the opposition, shooting eight-for-14 from the field. The third-year Business Administration student-athlete scored 21 of her 25 points in the middle two quarters to fend off a charge by their hosts to regain the lead.
Tafari Carefoote-Jones, Men’s Basketball
Carefoote-Jones played a key role all over the court for the 6-0 Men’s Basketball Huskies, scoring 40 points, 14 rebounds, seven steals, and four assists across two games.
He scored 20 points in Friday’s 108-53 win against the RDP Kings and had 20 in a 104-60 win against the Broncos a day later. The Business Administration student-athlete was dialed in from long range, shooting 61.5 percent (eight-for-13) from beyond the arc this weekend. He also collected his first double-double of the season Saturday after securing 11 rebounds in the match.
Rafael Parada Lima, Men’s Volleyball
Parada Lima was a key part of a weekend sweep at home for the Men’s Volleyball Huskies. Across four-set wins against the RDP Kings and Olds Broncos, Parada recorded 25 kills, 15 digs, four assists, three aces, and three blocks.
“Raf carried us in big moments in the Red Deer game,” said Head Coach Keegan Kuhr. “Moments when we needed him to score he scored.”
Parada currently ranks 10th in the entire conference for kills (47), and 15th in kills per set (2.76).
The next home Huskies action will see the Volleyball teams take over the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre again with matches Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15. First serve times at 6:00pm for the Women and 8:00pm for the Men on both days.
