Twin, Miller named Keyano Huskies Athletes of the Week
Keyano College Huskies Athletics announced today that Women’s Basketball student-athlete Jaylynn Twin (Slave Lake, Alta.) and Men’s Basketball student-athlete Keenan Miller (Columbia, Missouri, USA) have been named the Keyano Huskies Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 30, 2025.
Twin scored double-digit points in a game for the sixth and seventh times this season, scoring 10 points Friday and 18 points Saturday. She also added 26 rebounds over the weekend, including 18 in Saturday’s result for her fourth double-double of the season.
“She’s been playing well and I’m happy for her,” said Head Coach Dwayne Vigilance.
Twin is part of an exclusive group in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women’s Basketball, averaging a double-double per game with figures of 11.8 points and 11.3 rebounds. The points per game total ties a career-high mark for Twin while her current seasonal average would be a career-best by more than three rebounds per game if maintained through the rest of the regular season.
Twin has had a sensational career with the Huskies to date, scoring 547 career points and 435 rebounds. She’s also added 53 steals, 45 blocks, and 43 assists throughout her time with the Huskies.
Keenan Miller showed once again why he’s the reigning Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) North Division Player of the Year, scoring 43 points and adding seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block in 61 minutes of action across two home wins for the Keyano Huskies.
“He played great,” said Head Coach Anthony Skepple. “He shot the ball extremely well, was really good defensively. He played with great intensity as well, which was awesome. His energy level was super high all weekend.”
In a 76-64 win for the Huskies Friday, Miller led the Huskies with 21 points. Fifteen of those came from five made three-point shots while he also went a perfect 2-for-2 on free throws, earning player of the game honours.
Of Miller’s 21 points, 10 came in the second quarter as the Huskies outscored the St Mary’s University Lightning 24-15 to swing the game back into the Huskies’ favour.
Saturday night against the visiting Ambrose Lions, Miller once again led the Huskies in scoring, this time scoring 22 points on the strength of six three-point shots. The second quarter was Miller’s strongest showing for a second-straight night as he knocked down three three-pointers in the quarter.
Through nine games, Miller is averaging 17.3 points per game, along with 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 0.8 steals. Miller leads the ACAC in 3pt percentage with a 49.1 mark. He’s ranked 12th in points per game and tied for 14th in overall conference scoring.
The Huskies open the second half of the 2025-26 season January 9-10 on the road against the Lakeland Rustlers in Lloydminster, Sask. Tip-off times are 6:00pm and 8:00pm Friday as well as 1:00pm and 3:00pm Saturday.
