Keyano Huskies name Mikee Dosado as new Men’s Basketball Head Coach
Keyano College Huskies Athletics are proud to announce the hiring of Mikee Dosado as the new Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball program. In his role, Dosaod will also oversee the coordination of the Junior Huskies Camps.
“What’s drawn me to coaching was communication and competitive drive,” Dosado said. “Those things are natural to me; the game of basketball depends on those two things. I feel like I’m a really good communicator and the message I set out is going to be very clear.
“What brought me to Keyano was the standards that Jeremy [Wielenga] has set in the last few years. They match my standards of excellence and competitiveness. I’m super excited.”
Dosado comes to the Huskies via the Vanier College Cheetahs, where he’s served as an Assistant Coach since 2020. He has also served as a regional scout for the Brandon University Bobcats since 2020. Dosado’s post-secondary career was also spent with the Cheetahs and Bobcats.
"Having coached Mike years ago at Brandon, he was a high character player and leader," Wielenga said. "I know his playing experience, combined with his time at Vanier, that he fits the culture and work ethic that has been established at Keyano and we are very lucky and excited for him to join us."
In the 2010-11 academic year, Dosado helped the Cheetahs capture the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Championship. His other three years were spent with the Bobcats, where he appeared in 57 games across three seasons with the Canada West program.
“Jeremy and I share a lot of the same perspective when it comes to player profile and player competitiveness from what I’ve seen the last few years,” Dosado added.
Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for 2026-27 schedule announcements for each of the Keyano Huskies teams.
