Men's Volleyball Huskies outlast Kodiaks in third set for sweep on home court
The Keyano Huskies Men's Volleyball team had to play a few extra points in the third set but outlasted their opposition, the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks, to improve to 6-0 on the season Saturday at the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre.
A straight-sets victory 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 29-27) was the Huskies' result after a back-and-forth final set where the Kodiaks fought valiantly to prolong the game.
Arthur Silveira led the Huskies with 13 kills, followed by nine for fellow countryman Rafael Parada Lima. Noah Rigney and Tim Ebbs each had six on the offensive side for the Huskies. Ebbs also contributed two aces from the team's service line. Libeo Kaylen Desmarais-Joseph led the team with 12 digs while Kai Rosnau handled setting duties with 31 assists.
Five different Huskies recorded blocks in the game, led by three from Parada Lima as well as two each from Ebbs and Rosnau.
Desmarais-Joseph earned Player of the Game honours for the Huskies in the win.
The Men's Volleyball Huskies are on the road next weekend, taking on the Medicine Hat College Rattlers and Briercrest College Clippers.
