Already a part of a historic team that went 20-0 in the 2022-23 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men’s Basketball Regular Season, Taliik Ross will be looking to add more accolades to his basketball resume as well as that of the Keyano Huskies Men's Basketball team over the coming weeks.
That success is a testament to a strong character that has allowed him to fit so well with the Huskies in such a short amount of time, bringing them more success.
A transfer from the SAIT Trojans, Ross won two ACAC Gold Medals with the program in 2020 and 2022. During that time, he averaged 10.8 points per game, also adding 251 rebounds, 28 assists, 19 steals, and 32 blocks.
With the Huskies in 2022-23, those contributions grew as he averaged 13.6 points per game, 142 rebounds, 29 assists, 21 blocks, and nine steals.
Those totals have led to a career year, as he posted new highs in points per game (13.6), total points scored (244), field goals made (94), free throws made (51), free throw percentage (70.8), rebounds (142), assists (29), and blocks (21).
He reached double-digits in 15 of the 18 games he appeared in, also recording five double-doubles during the regular season.
During the playoffs, he’s kept his game sharp as well. In the three-game 2020 playoffs, he averaged 10 points per game, added 36 rebounds, and seven blocks. In 2022’s postseason, he averaged 13.3 points per game, 34 rebounds, four blocks, and four steals.
All together, Ross has compiled 524 points, 393 rebounds, 57 assists, 53 blocks, and 28 steals in just 44 ACAC Regular Season games.
Already an ACAC Champion and hungry for more, Ross has played a strong role in the Huskies charging to the top of the ACAC’s Men’s Basketball standings this season.
